New Pattern; Paradise Days for Girl's and Doll's

Just in time for summer, a new pattern is released today! The paradise Days and Mini Paradise Days pattern from Ellie Inspired.  The doll one is my newest pattern that has been released. (Doesn't Isabelle look so cute?!)

This is a wrap style skirt with an elastic waist band paired with a knit ruffled shirt. The shirt on the doll opens up in the back for ease of dressing the doll and closes with hook and loop tape.

The girl's pattern is just like the doll's other than the knit shirt slips over the head. She LOVES this set so much! She wore it three days in row with me having to wash it at night for her to wear the next day. I used a woven fabric for the skirt's ruffles, arm binding and neck bindings with no issues of ti fitting over her head. You can use knit for all the skirt too but I wanted hers to match her skirt. The shirt looks great over shorts too!

Sweet pea looks already for a day at the beach! If only it would warm up now so we can go.

I really do love love making matches set for Sarah and her dolly and she really loves it too. Little Miss Elsa dolly had to have a new summer outfit too. That is a whole lot of ruffles for this girly girl.

You can find my new pattern for sale here

The Sarah Swing Top and Tess Twirl Skirt Sew A Long!!

I am leading another sew-a-long over at Whimsical Fabrics again at the end of this month that they are hosting! This month's patterns are the Sarah Swing top (can you guess Sweet pea loves that name?!? lol) and the Tess Twirl skirt.

Both of these are super quick to sew and top and skirt has these beautiful serger made ruffles, everything my girly girl loves. I picked the fabrics out for this one and she loves them and looks great in them. I am surprised seeing they are not pink or Elsa blue but I do adore these fabrics! The fabric line is Art Gallery Sweet as Honey. I used the same brand as Sarah's Sugar Horses Maxi dress. If you have not used these fabrics before I highly recommend them! All there lines are so gorgeous with beautiful colors and prints!

The sew-a-long will be over a four day stretch so plenty of time to finish each lesson. With each lesson you finish and post a picture in the album you will be entered in for a prize!  Pretty neat huh? They give away patterns, fabric and even notions. A different prize for each lesson. Plus you love the teacher too. ;-)

The top has a open back with buttons at the top for a closer. I love the cross-over style and the lose fitting skirt on the top is really nice for warm and hot weather. We found out on cool mornings that this top layers really well too so she will be wearing this to school in fall for sure.

The skirt is a three tier skier with ruffles over each skirt seam with another ruffle at the hem. You can image Sarah loves it!

It twirls very well too!

If you would like to join in the sew-a-long you can here

You can find kits for sale in the shop here, lots of options too so there is something for everyone!!

Hope to see you there!!

The Mini Evermore Pinafore, My New Pattern!

If you have been wondering why I have been so quite on my blog it is due to my busy sewing away some surprises, like my newest released pattern!! (One more of many to come!)

The Mini Evermore Pinafore is made after our girl's pattern that is being released today as well.  The doll pattern is made to fit both a 15" doll and a 18" doll. So both the AG style and the baby doll style. It has options of smocking, pin tucks or honey comb smocking in this pattern.

The pinafore has this lovely ruffle that goes all the way around the bottom and has buttons with loops for closer in the back just like the big girls.

It fits very nicely over the Mini Miss Merry Mack dress too. Here are a few testers photos for you look at!

The pinafore fits the Boyd's bears too.

I love this one, her little girl and her doll looks so cute matching!

You can both pattern for sale either the doll one separate or both in a bundle this week!
or both here
Happy Sewing!

Summer Dreaming

Ah summer days as child, the warm sunny days with the gentle breeze blowing through your hair. The carefree days that have late sunsets watching the sun go down and then waiting for the fireflies to come out.   The early mornings of waking with the sun just to see what adventurer awaits the day. Yes we do love summer break in our home!

With summer days fast approaching I am trying to finish up the last of my summer sewing for my youngest two. (school break starts this Friday for our older ones) Miss Sweet pea wanted a summer frock with smocking and this beautiful fabric from Art Gallery. The Art Gallery is a new favorite fabric brand of Sarah's and mine now. It feels different compared to normal quilting cotton, much like that of the Sarah Jane Out to Sea fabric. It pleats up ever so nicely and is a dream to sew with.

The pattern I used is Sugar Horses from Ellie Inspired. (you can find the pattern here) I have always loved this pattern but have never made one up until this fabric was calling my name. My friend then had the idea that I make it into a maxi length, oh so clever of her!! Sarah and I both love the length of this dress. It was the only mod I made to the pattern, the rest was in the pattern including the smocking. I love the way the smocking looks on this pattern too.

As she is growing up so is her hair style choices as well. She loves her hair is gorgeous braids now when fixed up. No more ponytails for her. (Thank you to Disney Frozen and Elsa for making this possible! It is amazing that mama cannot talk her into new hair style but a cartoon queen can, go figure)

She loves the length of the dress as much as the details too. I kept the dress 1" off the ground leave so there will no tripping on the hem. This dress will be used for our trips the lake beach this summer. It is nice and cool she has told me.

I will be most certainly sewing one of these up every summer from now on, did I mention the pattern goes up to a size 16?!? Sarah wears a size 5 so no worrying about her out growing the pattern any time soon. The pattern also has a short sleeve and long sleeve options. I am already working out a fall version in my head for Sarah for her first year in school.

This is my very favorite part of this pattern, the smocking!! I really loves the add to dress, simple but elegant. (I wonder if I can talk Laura into making this in my size?!?)

Yes bring on the summer days please! We are ready for all that it brings.
