Tea party Sundress

I know it "winter" here but what a wonderful cheer up dress!! It looks great as is and wonderful layered for the cold weather with some adorable tights under. This is another wonderful Oliver + S pattern. It was out of print but now can be bought as a PDf on their web sight. And not only is it great pattern but sews up quickly too!!
I did make a change to pattern though, it is fully lined where the pattern is not. Fully lining this dress gives so much better shape to it. To see a wonderfully tutorial on it you can over to Nicole's Five and Counting... blog to just how she did it. She is a very talented and creative woman!!
I had to make two of these! A strawberry one for my strawberry loven daughter. I did make these a 2T so I am hoping they fit all summer long too. She is a very tall girl so we will see.
I did have to finish this one with special buttons from grandma. Sweet pea has these in her room more than they have been in my sewing room, lol. I think she will love them on her new dress. :)
Happy Sewing!!

A Peasant Top

I made Sweet pea this simple peasant top to go with her jeans. A couple of weeks ago it was warm enough to wear alone but it is stating to get cooler here so now we must layer. (sadly no snow yet!) I used a Raggedy Ann fabric I have been hording saving.
This was a quick and easy top to make. The pattern was pretty easy to make. I did the same as I would for a pillow case dress and made the sleeves a bit smaller. I finished the top and sleeves with sheering, then added a belt to finish it off!
I am planing on doing a lot more sewing this year than I have in past few months. I have not been blogging like I used to but for with good reason! I am working today on fixing the Carolina dress down load that isn't working. I know it has been giving a lot of you ladies trouble, I am sorry that it hasn't been done sooner. I do have a bit of a surprise at the end of this week too. (as to why I haven't been blogging or sewing much ;) )

Until next time Happy Sewing!!

Happy Birthday

We had two birthdays this past week. Mr G turned 6 and Sweet pea turned 2!
I made her some simple cupcakes with her favorite toppings on them. The poor thing is sick so she hasn't felt like partying. We will be having her party this weekend so I am hoping she will be all better.
I still can't believe my baby boy is 6 years old! My how the time has flown.
He is now old enough to protest having a home made cake and wanted the basketball cake from the bakery this year. He was very happy with it so am I. :)
Happy Birthday my little ones!!

A Little Birthday Gift!

I finally have sewn something! I made a baby doll carrier and a baby doll diaper bag. These were meant to be a Christmas gift but now will be for Sweet pea's 2nd birthday next week.
I found this adorable pattern in Oliver + S LTTS book. It was very quick and easy to make, and way cute!! I can't wait for Sweet pea to use it!
This is a great tutorial I found back in November over at Mommy by Day{crafter} by night blog. It was very clear and easy to follow. I am already know Sweet pea loves seeing she has stolen it from my sewing room a few times already, lol. Now onto a few dresses for Sweet pea nad her doll for her birthday.

Happy Sewing!!
