Miss Mod Top for Me!

Yes I have done it again, I have sewn something for me!
I don't like to have pictures of me taken much (need to lose those extra pounds) but I love this top so much that I wanted to share it with you ladies. I used a satin fabric for this top. I love the way this fabric drapes when on! I wanted a color that would work well with different skirts and pants. My hubby even liked this top on me too! A big plus! It not only does it look good but the fit is great too!
If you are wondering what great pattern this is it is the Miss Mod Top from Seamingly Smitten. I am very lucky enough that I was able to test this wonderful pattern for Jenny. She has many wonderful patterns here. My favorite little girl pattern is the  Pinafore top and skirt. I have gotten so many comploments on this outfit for Sweet pea. The pattern was so easy to follow and this top went together very quickly! and the fit is perfect too! This pattern is a new favorite of mine!! I am thinking about a knit top for layering for this fall in a wonderful olive green paired with a brown belt...more to come on this one. :)
Go check out this great pattern!!

A Pattern that's old & still yet new

A vintage outfit for my Sweet pea, made out of vintage fabric that I have been saving for a long time.  I had just enough fabric to make this outfit! Old but still very new. I paired the flower fabric with a pretty kona fabric from Hobby lobby.
The Puppet Show pattern is one of the first patterns from Oliver + S and has been out of print for some time. It is the HARDEST pattern to find, believe me when I say I have looked everywhere for this pattern, me and some 100s of other gals. This pattern is new now due to Oliver + S will be releasing a PDF print of this pattern soon. I was very lucky to be able to test for them.
I love every detail about this patttern! The little shorts have a cute cuff with the sides of the shorts are gathered. The pocket is one of my favorite styles! A great way to add a "pop" of color to the shorts.
I finished the top with fabric covered buttons. I love the way the buttons go down the whole back of this top. The sleeves also have buttons on the cuffs, too cute detail!
The hardest part of this pattern was trying to take a couple of good pictures of Sweet pea. My plan was to take pictures, her's was to, well, RUN!....
and run...
and run....

and run!! lol. This was the most tiring photos I have ever taken of her!

A Christmas Dress, very early!

I know it's a bit early to be thinking about Christmas but I was lucky to be able to test a pattern for Ellie Inspired this month and this beauty has Christmas written all over it! If you haven't seen her wonderful patterns yet you need to go check them out here. Warning lots of photos in this post!!
The whole dress is done in an off white with a golden brown ribbion sash around the waist. THe front bodice is smocked all by hand, my first outfit smocking ever!
Here is a closer look at the front bodice, sorry the sash slipped up a bit with Sweet pea wiggling around and trying to play. The collor and the end sleeves are trimed in a lace, love this part! Gotta love the look in her face here, lol.

This was a wonderfu way to cheer me up, I love that about sewing! I was able to spend some timeing chilling on the couch smocking watching movies with the kids all weekend so this was a fun project.

Happy Sewing!! Sew along will contuniue tomorrow morning!
