A Jump Rope Dress or Two

Yes it's another Oliver + S. This is another Jump Rope dress just it's in view B. I love the lines of this dress. It's perfect for Sweet pea to play in and still  a bit girly. (don't look at the messy fabric in the back ground!)
I made this dress after the Charlie and Lola story books. It's not the same fabric but it is the same style of dress with the white collar. I do love Charlie and Lola!

And this dress goes great with corn!!
Here's another but with packets and a button tab on the sleeves. Notice the nicer edge stitching by my new side kick?!?

This is such a wonderful pattern and it has really grown on me.  I plan on making a few for the fall in long sleeve out of corduroy. Anyone else thinking of fall sewing yet too?

Happy Sewing!
Sharon

  2. Thanks so much! I really do enjoy sewing for kids. There is nothing as rewarding as seeing their faces light up when I show them what mama has made just for them. It's a great feeling.

  3. Hi Sharon

I like the white contrast collar. View B is nice too! Sweet pea is growing up so prettily!

  4. So cute!!!! Here's a question for you...since you are the expert! Which view is easier to make, A or B? Does your little one prefer one style over the other?

  5. Adrienne, I wouldn't say expert but I do love this dress! All Of the Oliver + S dresses for that matter. ;) The view B is quicker to make seeing it doesn't have the belt loops or gathered skirt but I would say they are about the same to make. The View A is longer and because Sweet pea just learned how to get onto the couch, chiars and her trike this dress makes it a bit harder to do these things. However the View B is the perfect length for playing/climbing in. PLus she loves the A lined dresses too, there is not a fitted waist so it is cooler dress in the hot weather.
