Fall is Here!

Well on this dress that is! I made Sweet pea this Puppet show dress out of Sherbet Pips fabric. I seen this dress here on flicker and fell in love with it and wanted one for Sweet pea too.
I love the swinging girls on the fabric and the way the fabric has print but still is not a "heavy" print. The fabric seemed to be made for this pattern.
I added little blue heart buttons to the sleeve cuffs. I was given this little cutties. I also took the name on the salvage and made it into a tag for the inside to palce above the size tag. I got this idea from Naturally Carol.
As this weekend comes to close I want to wish you ladies the best week. I will be gone of here for a bit seeing I am haveing my galbladder sugry in the morning. I would love if you gals could pray for me. (I am really nervus!!) I will be working on a speical something though but you'll have to wait to see what it is. :)

A Gift for Baby

A couple at church is expecting their first baby this next month so I wanted to make the little guy somehting for his arival. I used the Oliver + S pattern Tea Party Playsuit to make this cute little outfit. This pattern also has a a dress in it, I made one here and here. I love little clothes! It makes me miss mine being small. sniff sniff. The best part is it only took an hour to put together!
The entire top of the play suit is edge stitched, I love this detail. Lucky me found these great brown buttons in my stash my mom gave me. I think they wonderful with it. I sewn my label on the inside of this one, I not sure but I think it might be to "girly" to place it on the outside of  a boy outfit. I also placed a size label under it but it is hard to see it though.
Happy Sewing and have a great weekend!!

Traveler Dress for Me!

Well I finally made something for me! I finished one of my dresses for the upcoming sew along I am hosting later this month. It might look like a tent on a hanger (size 18) but it fits lovely! The darts give a wonderful woman shape to the top. Much nicer than any Tshirt that I normally wear.
I love the two darts that is on the back bodice, once again it gives the dress a nice shape! I really love this pattern too! The pattern was easy to follow and came together nicely. I am impressed with myself on this one, I was thinking it would be harder to sew than Sweet pea dresses but it wasn't. It was weird though sewing something much bigger than her tiny clothes. ;)
I love the button placket that goes all the way down the front of the dress. I used a transparent white button, I love how it "goes" with the dress.
Thew collar has edge stitching that goes around the entire way, with my new sewing machine it was a breeze too. It makes the dress look more professional I think. The bottom picture is the top after I washed the blue marking pen out. I will post some pictures of me wearing this lovely dress after I go buy a slip to go under it. (I don't wear dresses that often but now that will change!) I can't wait to show you ladies!!
Happy Sewing!!

First Day Of School

These good looking fellows started school yesterday. It their first day at a brand new school, just built. The school was just finished in time for the the kids to go back. (the boys where worried that there wasn't going to get the playground in, lol)
They were very excited to start too!
Oh how hard it was to see them walk down the hall. This summer has gone by to fast for me and I wasn't ready to let go. The hardest was taking my baby boy to his very first day of big boy school. He hasn't ever been gone this long from the house and how I missed him all day! I cried, he didn't. He loves it, everything about school. If only I could hold on a bit longer!!

Show your team Spirit Shorts

The boys start to school today (sniff, sniff)so to start the day out right I made my oldest son a Clemson sandbox shorts. This is his favorite team and him getting older the fabric was a great fit!
I had to enlarge the pattern to a size 10, it came out wonderful. It fits him like a glove! I doubled stitched the side seams to reinforce to make them boy ready. ;)Well I am off to wake the last one up and then they are offf to school. I know they are ready but I am not! On days like today I really wish we home schooled our youngens.

Happy Sewing!

Sandbox fun for Mr G

This weekend I spent some time finishing some pants and shorts for our youngest boy. I used the Oliver + S sandbox pants pattern. This is the easiest and fasted pants pattern I have used! I really love it.

I used a stripped linen for Mr G pants. The waist has an elastic back with a draw string tie in the front for a wonderful fit. There is two front pockets and two back pockets with button on them.
They are great for jumping in too!
 And maybe some "Karatee" too!
He was being so silly while I was taking his picture, lol. These are his cowboy shorts. He picked out the fabric so these are very special shorts. He is now ready to go back to school.

Have a great Labor Day!!!

A Fancy Hopscotch For Little Miss

Good Morning!! I decided yesterday for a quick pick-me-upper since I have been on a boy kick this past two weeks. (that and Sweet pea has been trying to run off with everything I had made the boys, I think it's her way of saying where's mine!, lol) I do enjoy making things for my boys but I do LOVE making dresses for my little Sweet pea. I will warn ya there is a few pictures of Sweet pea here!
This dress started off as a shirt I found shopping a few weeks ago at JcPennies. I seen the shirt and thought it would make a great hopscotch dress for Sweet pea.  It was only $3 too so how could I not buy it!
I did change the sleeves on the top of the dress. I wanted a short sleeve for the two more months of hot/warm weather we have coming and I also wanted to make it where I could layer a long oneis under it too for this winter.
I made a matching shimmery clip to place onto the top of her dress too. And the best part when Sweet pea seen the dress for the first time she grabbed it from my hand and was hugging her new dress! She only gave it back when she knew I was putting the dress on her. Has your daughter ever had an outfit/dress like this too?
Happy Sewing!!!
