Prince C and Mim Mim Bunny Friend

I started this purple bunny this past summer as a requested from my littlest one. He is a huge Kate and Mim Mim fan. After much looking around we couldn't find him a Mim Mim bunny anywhere for sale. Rather than leave Prince C sad we decided that mommy would make one. a crocheted on.... As I am sure you noticed the "I started last summer part" (yep it's winter now) I am faster at sewing than crocheting now. ha-ha! Long story but I get pain in my hands now so it makes crocheting harder. Did I give up, no I didn't!! :-) 

Prince C was thrilled with this bunny friend, he started to spin and say the Kate and Mim Mim chant to head off to Mim Mim a lou. If you watch the show every episode Kate takes her stuffed bunny there, where he comes to life  and the two of them solve a problem there.  Prince C went there last night to solve the problem on how to make sissy be quite for bed time. I love his imagination! 

I did sew the googles onto Mim Mim so that they wouldn't be lost but they still do fir over his eyes. 

Next on my crocheting list?? Two Easter crochet hats!! At least hats are easier to make than stuffed bunnies. The hats have beautiful flowers all over of them. 

We are off to have an adventure!!

Crochet Cables Hat

Once in a while I really do make myself some things. This has been such a cold winter that three snow storms ago I decided to crochet myself a new hat. This is the second hat, the first one was a big flop. The pattern was a "free" one off some blog and well, it wasn't a good one. So reused the yarn and made this one! Success!

I found the pattern off the show Knit and Crochet Now, the pattern is Crochet Cables Hat. It's free pattern too but it was a great free pattern, as in it turned out! It honestly did take long to make, I just didn't work on it that much. Sweet pea has requested one just like mama's so I have to pull out some more yarn later today...I really had forgotten how much I enjoyed crocheting. It was my first crafting love. : )

Little Ella the Waldorf doll

 

 

This year we decided to have some homemade gifts for the two little ones at our house. This is the first one done! Meet little Ella, my very first home made Waldorf doll. (I do plan on making many more!)  She is a gift for my Sweet pea for Christmas.  She has a body fully stuffed with wool (she smells so good!) and her arms and legs are fully jointed. Her hair is made out of Alpaca yard, so soft and smells dreamy. This doll is made for cuddling!

 

 

I gave her a full head of yarn hair so Sweet pea can fix it any way she wants. this part of the doll took the longest to make but it wasn't hard though.

 

Little Ella is ready and waiting for Christmas morning to meet her new mommy. I am sure am excited for Sweet pea to open her gifts.

 

Besides the dolly I made Ella a wee little lace trimmed pillow and quilt for snuggling. The quilt is a mini version of Sweet pea's scrambled 9 patch. (which is for her birthday) All the blocks were cut at 2 1/2" squares to make it. The back is a lovely soft minky and so is the her pillow.

Ella's first outfit!

 

I crocheted her a cardigan with Mary Jane style shoes.

 

This is the mini version of the Oliver + S Bubble dress with matching cloth nappy.

 

Ella's second outfit is a faux front button up blouse trimmed in lace and a soft cozy pair of minky overalls. I wanted to make more outfits but to keep the presents even on Christmas morning I stopped myself and will make more for Sweet pea's birthday next month. It sure is way easier to buy for my little girl than the older boys'.

Puppies, Booties and Hats

I made Sweet pea a matching rap around shirt to match her pleated skirt a couple of days ago. It is a busy print, I love it, totally girly. I made the bias tape too. It was from left overs from her Christmas dress jacket. I hate to waist anything.

I also finished the dress, hat and booties for my friend's baby too. I made her a dress like Sweet pea's Scottie dog dress and a hat too. I also made a matching pair of baby booties.

They are so cute and little. It makes me miss my little one being so tiny, my baby is growing up. sniff, sniff.(that's me crying) I will post the pattern for the booties later this week.

Baby it's cold outside!

I made my little girl a crochet shell stitch beanie hat for the colder weather. I found the pattern over at The Dainty Daisy. I just love girly hats! I used a soft pink yarn for the main part of her hat and a fuzzy, extra soft, silky yarn for the flower. I found the flower yarn over at Hobby Lobby for about $6, just love it! It was a bit harder to crochet with it but the end results are worth it. Then to finish it off I added a sparkly button in the middle. Now Sweet pea will be warm and look good this winter!

Here is the baby blanket that I made her after she was born. I used the left over yarn for the main part of her hat.
