The Summer Swing Top Sew along!

The other day Sweet pea had on these ruffled bloomers running around the house and I thought "oh how cute are those bloomers! I wish she had a short top to where I could see the bloomers still"  Two hours later I was sketching this top and sew it!

I made her new shirt sleeveless with the hot weather out, it is already in the mid 90s here! I add a little cut placket on the front with pink rick rack, love that stuff! I am loven the look of plackets right now. I have seen them all over and think they are just too cute. :)

This will be our next sew along for June! This top works great over a pair frilly bloomers or for older girls would look great over a pair of cuffed shorts. (this is next on my list!) The top is fully lined so it can be made reversible too!

The back has three buttons on it and has extra room for play with the swoop and the bottom of  back.

Aren't these ruffles just cute?!?

Here is a closer look at the top front and back. I used bias tape around the arm holes, I wanted to a bit of white to the arms to match the center placket. I am stll not sure if I will show you how to make this pattern or make it myself for you ladies to print out. Let me know what size ranges you gals will be using.

So mark your calenders for June 20th for our next sew along!
Happy Sewing!!

Sharon

  4. I'd be making 24 month (my daughter will be 2 next month but she's on the petite side) and 12 month for my niece. I don't think I can wait till June 20th!!! Do you have the bloomer pattern anywhere on your site?

  7. Oh how cute!! I may have to try my first sew along!!! My baby girl isn't even here yet (due October), but she will be 6M around spring time. But you know anything bigger can always be stored until she grows into it!!
